Niaouli: Tea Tree 2.0

Niaouli is a large evergreen tree that is native to Australia used by the aborigines. With its extensive leaves and white-yellow flowers that blossom in tight spikes, Niaouli holds a few nicknames from its unique appearance including bottlebrush and/or paperbark tea tree. Natives used both leaves and bark for creating shelters, wrapping baked food, and lining ground ovens. DoTERRA steam distills the leaves of Niaouli from Madagascar where the trees grow in abundance.

USES AND BENEFITS

Niaouli is an essential oil containing eucalyptol and monoterpenes, providing natural and stimulating effects on the body—a chemistry that makes Niaouli a pleasant complement for a soothing massage or diffuser blend. Because of the powerful properties in this essential oil, Niaouli supports the maintenance of oral health and skin when diluted. Being an efficient relative of Tea Tree/Melaleuca, Niaouli retains similar benefits. Use Niaouli in your skin-care rotation of oils for variety in benefits.
